Welcome to Decom North Sea

Decom North Sea has been set up to tackle the main areas of weakness and the bottlenecks which are inhibiting UK decommissioning supply-chain capability.

The demand for a dedicated North Sea decommissioning forum to enhance knowledge transfer and facilitate collaborative activities was confirmed by a major industry consultation exercise undertaken by the Scottish Enterprise Energy Team during 2008 and early 2009. In particular, the lack of solid decommissioning experience in the UK supply chain was viewed by many potential suppliers as a major barrier to market entry.

Decom North Sea is jointly funded by Scottish Enterprise, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and the Department for Energy & Climate Change (DECC) for the first two years of operation.
