Since 1982, Scotoil Services Ltd (a Tradebe company), based in Aberdeen, has been providing the UK Oil & Gas industry with specialist services for the handling of NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material).
Situated close to Aberdeen Harbour, Scotoil owns and operates a waste management facility with SEPA permitting for NORM decontamination, repacking, and hazardous waste transfer. This is in addition to our onsite laboratory where our analysis capability includes radiochemical analysis, heavy metals, TPH and flashpoint. We also have an onsite radiation monitor repair and calibration workshop, and training facilities for NORM Awareness courses.
At Scotoil, we have been involved with and have led the onshore waste management of multiple decommissioning projects within the UKCS, with typical project scopes including subsea structures, flexible flow lines and umbilicals, rigid tubing, spools, valves, Xmas trees, concrete mattresses, ballasts, and more.
Working in collaboration with harbour authorities and other service companies in the North East of Scotland, we can offer a complete onshore solution right from the quayside, including craneage, structure resizing, transportation, engineering services, NORM management, decontamination and cleaning, and the compliant onshore management of waste.
Our Tradebe network allows for fewer intermediaries within our waste management services, with highly competitive disposal rates, such as for our NORM and Hazardous Waste incineration facility in Fawley.
