Decom North Sea has established an Internationalisation Special Interest Group (SIG) to look at how the Decom North Sea can better support its members who are trying to establish or expand their business overseas. The purpose in the Internationalisation SIG was set out in the recent Decom Offshore Event, which is to connect Decom North Sea members with international opportunities in providing services and products and to develop and increase their decommissioning market share while improving the efficiency of international decommissioning.
The Internationalisation SIG team is aiming to expand on the Decom North Sea success story of connecting opportunity with capability into the international market. The group’s focus is to deliver the following strategic themes:
In early December the Internationalisation SIG is hosting its first virtual networking event, providing an opportunity for DNS members to discuss challenges in internationalising their businesses. In the current climate, which is likely to extend well into 2021, challenges include travel restrictions, establishing new facilities outwith the UK, logistical issues for transferring equipment and workforce to support their company’s internationalisation strategies. In the above context, we would like to hear the needs of our members so we ensure we are meeting the needs of members now and also for those building a longer term international strategy.
Callum Falconer, Internationalisation SIG Chairman said: “The newly formed group is an energised team who have a wealth of hands-on international experience and who are willing to share this with the wider decom North Sea membership".
