To accelerate sustainable growth in the Scottish energy sector, Zero Waste Scotland is inviting grant applications from £50,000 to £1 million for capital expenditure projects which keep energy assets and materials in high-value use for as long as possible, as part of the wider Circular Economy Investment Fund.

Projects across the sector in oil and gas, renewables and utilities are welcomed which demonstrate innovative approaches to energy asset design, operation and decommissioning, as well as servicing and repair, re-use and remanufacturing. The use of new business models and technology to provide end-users with energy services is also of interest.

Examples of diverse projects which could be eligible are listed on the Zero Waste Scotland website, including plug and play design for oil and gas infrastructure, innovative approaches to wind turbine reprocessing and servitisation & reuse of heating systems.

Who can apply?
Funding is available to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and SME-led consortia, with projects enabling solutions and business models that improve the longevity and lifecycle-costs of energy assets. Funding is part of the wider Circular Economy Investment Fund, which comprises funds from Scottish Government and the European Regional Development Fund.
