Sky-Futures, the world leading UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) inspection specialist for the Oil and Gas industry has hired a new Engineering Manager, Steve Moir at their Aberdeen office. The announcement follows Sky-Futures hiring of new Inspection Engineer, Nick Shepherd last month. The expansion in the region comes after the company gained the largest ever investment into a drone business in Europe to date during their series A funding round of USD$4M+.
Steve Moir brings almost 20 years of engineering and inspection experience to Sky-Futures. Most recently he was an Operational Integrity Delivery Lead with CAN Offshore (Talisman Project). Prior to this he was a Senior Inspection Engineer with Lloyds Register and a Senior Inspection Engineer with Oceaneering among many other notable positions.
Steve, who will be based alongside Sky-Futures Inspectors in the company’s new offices in Aberdeen, said “I’m really excited about joining Sky-Futures. I have watched the company grow over the years and have been hugely impressed by what they deliver. It’s a tough time in Aberdeen right now but Sky-Futures can offer huge savings on inspection costs and I am really looking forward to working with our clients both in the North Sea and around the world”.
David Hunkin, Operations Director said, “We are delighted to have Steve on board heading up our Inspection and Engineering practice. He has a wealth of industry knowledge and will help keep Sky-Futures at the forefront of UAV based inspections in the Oil and Gas industry”.
