ITF are delighted to announce the second event in their series of Innovation Network Tech Talks, supported by Decom North Sea.
The ITF Tech Talk events support and promote the developer community and provide a platform to showcase innovative and leading technology to ITF members and the wider oil and gas industry.
It is estimated that about 45% of all decommissioning costs in the North Sea relate to well plugging and abandonment, and operators are now pressing ahead with well abandonment activities or have clear plans in place over the next two to three years to do so. There is no doubt that the pace of well abandonment is now accelerating. Progress has been made by operators in improving the efficiencies and reducing the costs of well abandonment, but the costs are still high and there is a big prize to be gained by achieving further cost reductions. In this context, new technologies will play a crucial role.
This Innovation Network Tech Talk, supported by Decom North Sea, will focus on Decommissioning and Well Abandonment.
Technology developers, industry bodies and operators will take part in an interactive session where they will discuss the challenges faced by the industry as well as showcase technologies and developments to assist the decommissioning challenges.
Speakers on the night include Roger Esson, Chief Executive of Decom North Sea, John Wiseman, Managing Director at Fairfield Energy and a range of technology developers from Pro-Serv, Magnabond, Sudelac and Ardyne. Attendees will also hear from Zero Waste Scotland and Jacobs Engineering Group, who are working together on Circular Decommissioning projects.
This free event takes place on Tuesday, September 5th 2017 at The Chester Hotel, Aberdeen starting at 6pm.
