The North Sea is developing into a mature basin where tail end value creation has become a major challenge. The tail end production represents a huge challenge that will call for innovative solutions to enhance safety, minimise impact on the environment and create value for companies and governments. This event is a major North Sea effort to collectively come up with the best ideas in optimising late life field assets and field abandonment.
The Hackathon, organised by ITF and NORWEP and supported by the Oil & Gas Authority and the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, is a single event over two locations which will feature presentations from the following operators; AkerBP, Centrica, ConocoPhillips, Point Resources, Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Limited, Shell and Statoil. They will each share their current challenges in the area, followed by interactive group sessions to discuss solutions to the challenges. These discussions will form a report that will be shared with all attendees following the event, which will also act as an action plan to drive future activity.
