Decom North Sea Lunch & Learn events give members and non-members from across the UK and Europe the opportunity to hear about developments, whilst networking with key players from the decommissioning sector.
Companies will present their offshore decommissioning capabilities both to raise awareness of their expertise with the operators and major contractors and also to allow the rest of the supply chain to seek opportunities for collaboration.
Our September Lunch and Learn event will include presentations from Brodies LLP, People Positive Ltd, Pipetech Operations Ltd and Sureclean Limited.
The current climate has given renewed and more acute attention towards cost efficiency. Sharing expensive yet vital equipment seems a straightforward approach to reduce costs but how do you create a contractual framework that achieves a collective approach whilst reflecting each party’s personal requirements? Greg May of Brodies LLP and John Anderson of Exceed will use a practical example to demonstrate what should be considered when trying to create a framework for collaboration while looking to the risk perspectives of both the Operator and the Contractor.
BS11000 is a practical template for organising the way in which collaborative working adds value to your operations. Drawing on his past experience and current expertise, Mark Sewell of People Positive will describe the advantages of incorporating good practice and quality processes into how you perform successfully through the decisions and actions of people. His visual presentation will inform, educate and entertain. People Positive has been working with businesses in the North Sea since being founded in 1989, delivering innovative Behavioural Safety Programmes accredited by OPITO, assisting numerous exploration and drilling projects, and, in harder times, helping people and organisations work better together to maximise their potential and performance.
Pipetech will present on our Aqua Milling technology which can benefit decommissioning projects through the ability to clean long and challenging pipework to a high standard leaving in a state ready for removal, typically using only a single point of entry. We will focus on the benefits such as time/cost savings and reduced environmental impact over less sophisticated techniques.
Sureclean is a dynamic contractor providing our portfolio of decommissioning services globally. We have been strategically developing our service offering and technologies to meet the unique challenges associated with the industry. Our core range of services are essential for current and future decommissioning / dismantling projects onshore and offshore, with our capabilities extending to include project management and technical support. We will be presenting on our recent decommissioning projects located offshore UKCS and offshore West Africa with information on our lessons learned, efficient technology and how we bring added value throughout the decommissioning process.
A representative from Petroplan will be exhibiting at this event, they will be available for Q&A prior to the event starting and over lunch.
