Resulting from a series of membership surveys, consultation events and innovation workshops organised over past months, Decom North Sea identified several new ideas for industry initiatives with the potential to add value and improve efficiency in the decommissioning sector.
Each of the potential joint industry projects had been explored with a pilot group of DNS members in order to assess an initial level of interest from industry. Before progressing any of these initiatives however, it was essential that DNS establishes the full level of member support (or otherwise), and this Workshop was designed to allow us to capture this.
During the Workshop the project sponsors introduced the intent and ambition of each initiative, followed by a short discussion to allow for any clarification required. Delegates wete then be asked to register their interest in the initiative, and assuming sufficient support was recorded we also asked for nominations to form a steering group to provide DNS with direction and advice on how best to scope, resource and deliver each project.
Follow-on workshops to define the scope, method of delivery, timescales, funding and resource requirements for each of the projects will be held with interested parties. These sessions will be open to all DNS members.
