Decom North Sea is recruiting for a Marketing and Communications Lead for a one-year, fixed-term maternity cover position.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, Journalism, or related specialism, and have spent 5+ years’ working in a similar or related role, ideally with experience in the oil and gas, and/or wider energy sector.
With responsibility for leading Decom North Sea’s marketing and communications output, the post holder must have experience developing marketing and communication strategies, a good knowledge of best practice in B2B social media, and be able to produce accurate and engaging copy in a timely manner for communication to Decom North Sea’s membership and wider audience. An eye for detail is essential, as well as a proactive approach to positioning and promoting the organisation’s messaging. The organisation does engage with an external PR strategist, however a reasonable working knowledge of PR would be desirable.

The role involves communicating with a number of stakeholders, including business contacts within Decom North Sea’s membership, prospective members, strategic partners, Decom North Sea’s Board, and bodies within the wider industry, and therefore an ability to engage with and best serve these contacts in an appropriate manner is essential.
Some events management experience or awareness would be desirable.
This role is currently based remotely, with some travel to essential meetings and events in Aberdeen required when restrictions allow. Current hours are full-time, 40 Hours per week, however part-time hours may be considered.
